Dynamo Power— The Windup hand crank generator charges the internal NI-MH Batteries.
Solar Power Radio --- You can play this Radio with the direct Sun solar panel or charge the NiMH batteries.
Solar radio generates 6-8 hours of playback with 12 hours in the sun.
Batteries: 3 AA batteries allow you to play the Radio the old fashioned way.
Electric: With the included adapter, you can play or charge with 110V electricity.
6 hours charging = 72 hours playing.
Q: How long will it play when you wind up the radio to charge the batteries?
A: When using wind up power, we recommend that you charge the batteries as soon as the low battery indicator illumintates. If you use the Dynamo when the batteries are almost completely dead, your play time will be dramatically shorter. If you use the hand crank from a low battery, it will take approximately two minutes of winding to get 10 minutes of play. The longer you wind up, the longer time it will play.
Q: What is the best way to power the radio?
A: The adapter will give you the fastest charge and easiest operation. We recommened that you fully charge the internal battery one time before using any other charging methods. AA batteries will run this radio for a long time. Solar power keeps the internal battery charged and ready if left in bright light.
Q: How long will the built in battery last?
A: The rechargeable battery will last as long as a couple of years if you use it properly. The powerful NiMH batteries are good for at least 500 charge cycles.
Q: Will the solar radio panel charge the internal battery even when if it is dead?
A: Whenever the internal battery goes completely dead it is always best to charge it with the AC adaptor. Please note that the battery is always charging via the solar radio panel whenever there is bright light present.
