A 55-75 ° F indoor temperature is required for this Patch.
Mushrooms could begin appearing in as little as 1 month from preparing the Patch.
Mushrooms can vary from a white to a light grey color.
These mushrooms should be mixed within 2 weeks from receipt.
A person can harvest 1-3 pounds of fresh mushrooms over several flushes. More substrate can be added once mushrooms formation has slowed to encourage more mushrooms.
The Patch is designed to be mixed into a bucket with fresh coffee/espresso grounds, or a mixture of paper and grounds, or fresh straw.
This Patch is great for science experiments, or for those looking for a more “hands-on” experience.

The Oyster Mushroom Patch is a selective composition of pasteurized straw fully impregnated with the mushroom organism, called the mycelium. The mycelium is whitish in color, with tones of yellow as it matures (the Pink Oyster has whitish mycelium that turns pink as it matures). The mushroom kit is in a state of “suspended animation” until you receive it.
SHIPPING TIMES: Most, but not all orders leave our warehouse within 1-7 business days. Allow time from the day we ship for UPS or the USPS to deliver it to you from Upstate NY. Please call for rush orders before 2:00 Eastern time. That means that some items, to some locations could take two weeks or more. Remember, we're a 50 year old family run business, so feel free to call us for a rush. We can get most of our items out the same day and use next day air and get it to you tomorrow, but you need to call before 2:00 Eastern time.
