Q: How do I take care of my ROCKY boots?
A: It is important to properly care for your ROCKY® boots. Using the correct shoe-care techniques can easily extend the life of your footwear. When cleaning leather or Cordura nylon boots, it is safe to use a mild soap and soft brush (a toothbrush often works well). An occasional application of silicone spray will maintain the leather and provide additional water repellency. ROCKY does not recommend using mink oils or creams to treat your boots, but if you do, use caution. Many of these products contain elements that can deteriorate the leather and Gore-Tex® fabric. When drying boots, use a boot drier or let the footwear air dry at room temperature. Most ROCKY boots come with removable footbeds, so removing these while drying the boots will speed up the process.
Q: What kind of socks I wear with my boots?
A: You should always wear a synthetic fiber, wool or wool-blend sock with your boots. These materials will help wick moisture away from your feet and transport it to the outside of the sock.
Q: How do I match up the width of my foot with ROCKY's available sizes?
A: ROCKY® makes all of our footwear in two different sizing combinations - #1 M, W, XW or #2. M/W, XW. With the most common #1 sizing a Medium (M) width is designed for a "D" width foot, a Wide (W) width is designed for a "E" or "EE" width foot, and a Extra Wide (XW or EW) is designed for a "EEE" width foot. On the #2 sizing option the Medium/Wide (M/W) width is a standard width for anyone with a "D" or "E" width foot, and the Extra Wide (XW or EW) is designed for a "EE" or "EEE" width foot.
ROCKY unfortunately does not make any narrow-width footwear or anything wider than a "EEE" width and cannot take special-order sizes.
If you are not sure of the width of your foot, ROCKY adheres to standard Brannock footwear sizing. A Brannock device is a metal measurement device which can be found in most footwear stores across the USA and is designed to find the size and width of one's foot.
