Item Description
The Global Navigator is a personal navigation system which contains a Transceiver, a Watch and a PC link unit.

The system makes use of the 24 – satellite network which circles the earth in the earth’s lower orbit, to determine one’s position, anywhere in the world at any time.

As soon as a satellite of the network is hooked by the transceiver, it will compute the time gap between the signal that was transmitted by those satellites and the time the signal is received by that transceiver. Using the time gap, the transceiver will get the distance of the user from the satellite.

Similarly, the transceiver will employ the above steps again until 3 different satellite user points are obtained. Then the Global Navigator can determine the user’s current position – latitude, longitude and altitude.

Once the user position has been determined, the Global Navigator can further compute other information such as current, average and maximum travel speed, travel distance and heading compass angle.

The Future is Here

I remember way back in the late 70’s, early 80’s when a new runners digital watch hit the market. You simply keyed in your stride into the watch and presto, the watch calculated the distance you ran. It was quite simple really. You just pressed a button when your left foot hit the ground, and then pressed the button again when your right foot hit the ground.

This was you stride length. The watch simply beeped on each step and roughly calculated your distance covered.

Now it’s 2009!

I have exchanged my running shoes for a Mountain Bike and traded in my old digital watch for this latest top of the line, technologically advanced GPS NAVIGATIONAL watch.

This is simply unbelievable. I connect to a satellite circling in the earth’s lower orbit. The Transceiver lets me know when I have connected with 3 or more satellites, I then transmit the Transceiver connection to my watch and off I cycle.

My GPS watch tells me exactly how fast I am going, exactly how far I have gone and where I am in the world.

Even when I am not using the GPS, the watch is one huge attention getter. With its sleek space age design, its one amazing conversation piece.

The Future is definitely here.
