Katadyn Hiker PRO Microfilter

The Katadyn Hiker Pro Water Microfilter possesses all the lightweight filter qualities you love in the Hiker, but adds a quick release feed hose and Quick Fill Hydration Pack Adapters. The Hiker Pro's filter element is now wrapped in a cleanable membrane that makes the unit field-serviceable, since anything big enough to clog gets stuck in the membrane. The Hiker Pro is ideal for lightweight backpacking, and eliminates Giardia, Cryptosporidium and all bacteria and microorganisms. If your on an extended backpacking or camping trip, the kit can keep your microfilter running flawlessly. The Hiker is efficient with its lightweight compact microfilter that gives a high water output per stroke. The Hiker Pro Replacement Cartridge works for the regular Hiker as well. Includes Filter Protector to extend cartridge life and quick release hoses for easy packing. Also includes hydration adapter to connect directly to most hydration packs. Carbon core reduces chemicals and makes water taste fresh. Lightweight design is easy to pump and provides 1 qt./liter per minute. Replaceable cartridge capacity: up to 200 gallons depending on water quality (more when using Filter Protector).

Activated carbon is used for its ability to reduce harmful organic and inorganic substances in the water. It removes unpleasant tastes, odors, chlorine, pesticides (lindane, DDT) and trihalomethanes (THMs). These substances adhere to the large surface area of the activated carbon. Activated carbon granulate cannot be regenerated.
