Item Description
  • Bulky pads and tampons are no longer necessary. The Keeper is a natural gum rubber cup that is worn internally, holding (instead of absorbing) monthly menstrual flow. It can even be worn overnight. To insert The Keeper, you first fold it lengthwise between your fingers. It forms a seal which keeps fluid inside the cup. It will not absorb or disrupt your natural vaginal moisture. It's environmentally friendly to the earth (No paper products to throw away month after month), - and to oneself! The Keeper can hold up to one ounce of menstrual flow. (An average woman's entire monthly flow is about 2 to 4 ounces, or so they say!) And it's so comfortable - you need to make sure not to forget you're wearing it! To remove it you simply pinch the bottom of the cup to release the seal, then bear down slightly with your pelvic muscles to help move it downward. Remove slowly, and empty the contents into the toilet. Rinse or wipe, and reinsert. Between cycles, you should rinse The Keeper with sufficiently warm/hot water and soap or a mild vinegar solution.
  • Many women find that The Keeper is very effective protection against that annoying problem - leakage. They use it alone - as their sole form of feminine hygiene. Once you try it, you'll learn how often you need to empty it. If you are in a situation where that isn't going to be possible for awhile, you may find that you can get by with just an added panty liner on your heaviest days, to compensate for slight leakage. It is also recommended that you use some extra protection (such as a panty liner or mini pad) when you are first trying out The Keeper just to make sure. Once you get used to using it, you'll know what you personally require.
  • If you have ever had vaginal child birth, order style "A" (for "After" vaginal child birth). If you have had cesarean births only, or no child births, order style "B" (for "Before" vaginal child birth). Style "A" is slightly larger in diameter and the rubber is slightly softer than that of style "B".
  • Actual Size is 3" tall by 1.75" wide
  • Style A = After child birth
  • Style B = Before child birth To Insert:
  • Simply press the sides of the light-weight, flexible cup together. Now, fold the cup in half again.
  • Hold the folded KEEPER between your thumb and index finger.
  • While sitting on the toilet or an equally relaxed position, simply insert the folded KEEPER completely into your vagina. (You may want to add a little KY Jelly around the rim of the cup for first time users for easier insertion until you're used to inserting your KEEPER).
  • The KEEPER is now in the correct position. The little cup follows the natural slant of the vagina. The KEEPER does not touch the cervix, but rests comfortably below it. Be sure the pull-tab is at the entrance to the vagina. (The pull-tab may be too long for your personal needs - simply trim it to the length you desire. DO NOT TRIM THE TAB ALL THE WAY OFF).

    To Remove:
  • While sitting on the toilet, bear down gently using your stomach muscles to bring the cup down and then grasp the pull-tab firmly so the tips of your fingers pinch the base of the cup. This action will allow air to enter around the cup, releasing the suction and making it easy to remove. (If your Keeper has risen to where it is difficult for you to grasp the pull-tab, just bear down gently using your stomach muscles to bring your Keeper down to the point where you can grasp the pull-tab).
  • Ease the cup gently downward supporting the bottom of the cup with your fingertips to prevent spilling.
  • Empty your cup and rinse or wipe your KEEPER, then simply reinsert.

    To Clean
  • At the end of your cycle, thoroughly wash your KEEPER in hot, soapy water and rinse thoroughly---DO NOT BOIL. Dry thoroughly and store your KEEPER in the convenient purse bag you received with your KEEPER. During your cycle clean as needed with warm soapy water.
