TITANAL, one of the strongest aluminum-alloy was exclusively developed in Austria in the early 1990s. Today, TITANAL is used in products and industries which require unique properties such as low weight and highest tensile strength. TITANAL is part of the 7XXX class of alloys. The mechanical properties of TITANAL are comparable to steel. Its weight, however is only 1/3 the weight of steel. TITANAL is strong, lite, and highly resistant against abrasion and corrosion. When developing the new TITANAL .HF series, the focus of our engineering team has been on reducing weight without sacrificing strength. To achieve the desired results we found that in addition to using high-tech materials and production methods for grips, straps, etc. we had to go back to the roots and conduct some basic research on the most crucial component of all – the shaft. From the basic properties, TITANAL was the ideal choice for our new expedition weight poles. To use TITANAL for our application, however, we also had to develop new heat treating and manufacturing processes to optimize TITANAL for our specific use. In exclusive partnerships with leading European aluminum processing companies, KOMPERDELL developed the new TITANAL .HF series. The high frequency welded and drawn tubes of the TITANAL .HF series enable us to reduce the weight and outside diameter of our poles without sacrificing rigidity and maximum extended length of these new, expedition weight poles. To compliment the new shaft, the new TITANAL .HF poles feature only the most modern KOMPERDELL components such as EVA Contourgrips, neoprene padded straps and our ultralite Vibra Stop shock absorbing system. These features characterize our new TITANAL .HF series – the poles for the 21st century.
