Coghlan's No-See-Um Head NetCoghlan's No-See-Um Head Net is made of ultra fine mesh to keep almost every insect out. Fits over most headwear. Elasticized at the neck for a snug fit. Folds to fit in pocket or backpack. Mosquitoes are found all over the world with the exception of Antarctica. These two-winged insects belong to the order Diptera. Members of the genera Anopheles, Culex and Aedes are the most commonly responsible for bites in humans. Only the female mosquitos bite. Male mosquitoes feed primarily on the nectar of flowers, but the females require a meal of blood to produce eggs. Worldwide, mosquitoes transmit various diseases to more than 700,000,000 people annually and will be responsible for the deaths of 1 out of every 17 people currently alive. Movement and the wearing of dark coloured clothing act as attractants. Your breath serves as a long-range attractant since Carbon Dioxide, released mainly from your breath as well as your skin, can be detected by mosquitoes at great distances.
