Pleurotus ostreatus (Pearl or Tree Oyster)

A 55-75 ° F indoor temperature is required for this Patch.

Mushrooms should begin appearing in as little as 1 week from arriving.

Mushrooms can vary from a white to a light grey color.

These mushrooms must be started as soon as they are received.

A person can harvest 1-3 pounds of fresh mushrooms over several flushes.

The patch is made from sterilized straw. Once the Patch is done producing it can be added to your compost pile or mixed with straw outdoors to encourage subsequent flushes.

The Oyster Indoor Patch is Certified Organic by the Washington State Department of Agriculture.

The Oyster Mushroom Patch is a selective composition of pasteurized straw fully impregnated with the mushroom organism, called the mycelium. The mycelium is whitish in color, with tones of yellow as it matures (the Pink Oyster has whitish mycelium that turns pink as it matures). The mushroom kit is in a state of “suspended animation” until you receive it.

SHIPPING TIMES: Most, but not all orders leave our warehouse within 1-7 business days. Allow time from the day we ship for UPS or the USPS to deliver it to you from Upstate NY. Please call for rush orders before 2:00 Eastern time. That means that some items, to some locations could take two weeks or more. Remember, we're a 50 year old family run business, so feel free to call us for a rush. We can get most of our items out the same day and use next day air and get it to you tomorrow, but you need to call before 2:00 Eastern time.
