ZestoTherm's patented Flameless Ration Heater (FRH) is the water-activated, environmentally friendly heater especially designed for the US Army to heat a soldier's individual eight ounce Meals, Ready to Eat (MRE) field ration.
An FRH heats food without the need for fire, safely and quickly. ZestoTherm mre food heaters are used easily in situations where fire is prohibited or not recommended; making the self heating FRH ideal for soldiers in the field; campers, hunters, boaters; or anyone interested in emergency preparedness.
FRH mre heaters are small (playing card size), weigh less than one ounce, and are easy to store (360 heaters take up only 1.4 cubic feet).
ZestoTherm Food Heaters have a five year shelf life.
Spent pads are easily disposed of, with no toxic materials. The FRHs are made from powdered food grade iron, magnesium, and sodium.
Each FRH is individually packaged in a sturdy, leak-proof polybag which serves as the heating container for the MRE.
Simply open the top of the FRH polybag sleeve, add plain water to the "Fill Line", and fold the bag in half. Place the heater next to the MRE food portion, and slide both back into the MRE box.

Note! According to the D.O.T. we can only ship 1 MRE Heater per MRE. This is a pack of 12 MRE Heaters. If you order this, you will also have to order at least 1 case of MRE's per heater pack.

Most, but not all orders leave our warehouse within 1-7 business days. Allow time from the day we ship for UPS or the USPS to deliver it to you from Upstate NY. Please call for rush orders before 2:00 Eastern time. That means that some items, to some locations could take two weeks or more. Remember, we're a 50 year old family run business, so feel free to call us for a rush. We can get most of our items out the same day and use next day air and get it to you tomorrow, but you need to call before 2:00 Eastern time.
