About the company:
For over sixty years SOPAKCO has been a dynamic participant in the military ration program, by working closely with the Department of Defense, and the commercial packaging industries. Meals Ready to Eat, originally designed by the U.S. Department of Defense, helps keep you going during your most rigorous days. These hearty entrees don't need water added like freeze-dried food. Just heat and eat! Sopakco MRE are packed in convenient pouches, using the latest food-storage technology, gives them a full flavor during their multi-year shelf life. Great for camping, hiking, outdoor adventure or emergencies. Rest assured knowing you will have nourishment in the event of a hurricane, tornado, blizzard, earthquake, flood or other emergencies.
Meals-Ready-to-Eat are long shelf life meals that can be eaten hot or cold. The MREs were designed by leading nutritionists and chefs to be tasty and nutritional. They are packaged in a triple-layer foil/plastic "retort" pouch. This is then sealed, cooked and not exposed to air until opened. Thus, the food is actually sterilized in the pouch and blocked from future contamination. The results are an almost unbelievable shelf life, and food which retains it natural moisture and juice. They are light weight, easy to store, and easy to use. They can be heated by any number of methods, or eaten cold (they are fully cooked). Refrigeration not required.
Sopakco, Inc. is a world leader in the design, preparation, and packaging of prepared foods using advanced packaging technologies. Based in South Carolina, they have been among the largest suppliers of Meals Ready-to-Eat (MREs) to the U.S. military for more than 30 years and are a preferred partner to many major international food companies.
The same technologies thy employ to keep the military fed are now used for our delicious, ready-to-eat Sure-Pak 12 Meals. Over the last decade, Sopako has supplied Sure-Pak 12 Meals to non-military government agencies, wholesale and retail distributors, and individuals preparing for disasters. They also provide emergency meals to victims directly affected by natural disasters at home and abroad.
With their longstanding commitment to customer satisfaction, SOPAKCO welcomes the opportunity to work with large organizations, distributors, retail outlets, and individual.

Know Your Needs, Don't Whine About Non-Problems
- I suspect reviewer Jerry expected normal MREs at a huge bargain, and doesn't like pasta entrees. If so, then yes "disappointed!" fits - for him. For you? Think on this:
Cost - these are ~$4 each, delivered 3/4 across the US, vs $9 each not including shipping for "normal" MREs.
Variety - only the entree. Bonus (at least for us), kids can't fight over desserts etc, they're the same in each one.
Needs - if you have dietary needs like low sodium, diabetes, allergies, then A, you gotta do what you gotta do, & B, I assume you live a normal life and know how to deal with it, so these will help w one issue at least, OR you know what you're buying anyway.
Overall - Most people needing "battle rations" for war or the Zombie Apocalypse will find these lacking in some way. Buy different MREs then, they make ones for Special Forces, they have some that work for you.
If you're a normal, a Boy Scout, or a full on prepper for non-end-of-it-all situations, these are fine, 4/9 the price, if a bit more boring/consistent in the menu options.
Bottom Line (for me/us) - I like the Veg Lasagna and Penne w Veg Sausage Crumbles least. Chili Mac (wife's fave) & Beef Ravioli best. Spaghetti & Cheese Tortellini were ok. Kids 6,12,17 "these are kinda boring but good". Casually, watch the sauce doesn't get on shirts. In an apocalypse, eat fast, then go solve it. Either way - everything is packaged safe and easy to open, so wash your hands first, take care of your trash after - and watch out for "disappointed!" people in YOUR bunker ;-)
- These are total junk. You get 1 pasta entree and a heater. Then 2 jellies, a pop tart, and a tootsie roll = TOTAL SUGAR. Accessory pack is just salt and pepper. Not even coffee or drink mix. VERY disappointed!
good price taste good
- had a meal today for lunch. was good. will purchase more of this product
- Bought 3 cases and Im glad I did. There's a nice variety of meals in each box. If you need salt badly enough, just keep a camping seasoning-shaker near your supply.
