Fellow wanderers, weekend warriors, and first-timers
If you’ve been following our blog, you know we’ve had our fair share of camping mishaps. We’ve set up tents on ant hills. We’ve forgotten coffee. We’ve eaten things that… shouldn’t be eaten. And sure, we’ve learned from every misstep.
But this week, instead of telling another story about our soggy boots or cold beans, we’re flipping the script with a little game.
We’re calling it Would You Rather: Camp Edition.
Each round comes with a real dilemma we’ve faced—and what we do now to avoid repeating it.
So play along. Pick your poison. And see if our solutions match yours.
Would you rather try to cook eggs in a disposable foil tray over a campfire or actually have a skillet that doesn’t fold in half when it gets hot?
We’ve been the “tray people.” Once. It ended with ash-covered eggs and a warped mess of tin. Now? We bring our stainless cooking kit. It packs small, handles direct flame, and keeps your eggs in one piece. We’re not saying you need it to survive—but if you like your food cooked evenly (and your dignity intact), it helps.

Would you rather sleep in your vehicle after discovering your tent poles don’t match your tent or carry a compact, backup shelter just in case?
It’s 9:15 p.m. You’re parked at a trailhead. The light’s gone. The air smells like pine, and your tent… is useless. We’ve been there. The truck bed was fine. Ish. But these days, we keep an emergency tent in our pack. It’s lightweight, easy to set up, and ideal when your main shelter plan fails.

You might not need it often, but when you do—it’s a game changer.
Would you rather lose your phone, wallet, and GPS signal to one sketchy downpour and a bad zipper or keep your critical gear in a backpack designed to block signals and resist weather?
We used to roll with whatever pack we had lying around. Until one trip turned into a slow-motion tech failure. First the phone died. Then the signal got weird. Then the power bank quit for no reason. It felt like a Faraday cage in reverse. Now we use this backpack—water-resistant, signal-blocking, and actually built for outdoor use. Plus, it doesn’t scream “tactical.” Just solid gear for a world where everything is digital—until it isn’t.

Would you rather hope someone packed snacks and spend an entire day hangry or catch dinner with a pocket-sized kit that feels like cheating?
We once forgot the food. All of it. We thought it was in the cooler. It wasn’t. That trip ended early (and cranky). These days, we keep our Fishing and Hunting kit tucked away just in case. Compact and surprisingly effective, it turns a bad day into a better one when you’re near water or wooded areas. No, it won’t replace your jerky and trail mix—but it’s an ace in your pocket when plans fall apart.

Camping’s not about perfection. It’s about making do, getting out there, and having stories to tell. But if we can avoid repeating a few of our biggest blunders, we’re going to do it—and we’ll bring the gear that helps us along the way.
So, which would you choose?
Let us know which Would You Rather stumped you—or saved your last trip. And if you’ve got a story of your own, we’re all ears. We’re building this one mishap at a time, together.
Stay weird, stay wild, and always pack a backup.
